REGISTER NOW! Festival Classes

From March 12–15, join the roster of Festival Classes open to members of the university teaching community during the 2012 Festival of Teaching.

Teaching is a cornerstone of our university. Instructors across the disciplines at the U of A use innovative and creative teaching methods inside and outside of classrooms every day, and one of the most important aims of the Festival of Teaching is to promote opportunities to observe and learn from one another.

This year’s event builds on the success of the 2011 Festival of Teaching, where over one hundred classroom, studio, and lab presentations were opened to visitors. In addition to the opportunity to view great teaching, this year’s class visitors, in some cases, will be able to meet with the instructor to discuss the pedagogical strategies used in the class.

Who can participate? All instructors, including full-time and contract faculty, librarians, postdoctoral fellows and graduate students.

How to participate? If you would like to attend a Festival Class to observe and learn, please visit the FoT website in February to see the list of available classes and sign up. Please note space is limited, so register early for the classes you wish to observe. Registration is now open!
